How can technology make it easier for teachers to better connect with students? Research shows that fostering stronger teacher-student connections in school not only improves educational outcomes, but also helps students realize their full potential. The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) is a philanthropic organization that is building tools with educators to make this easier for teachers.

One tool that CZI has launched to help meet that goal is Along. The teacher-student connection builder enables students to send quick video, voice, or text messages to teachers so they can let them know what’s on their minds.

It’s a way for teachers to foster stronger one-on-one relationships with students — relationships in which students feel seen and understood.
